Jamie Rossjohn

Jamie Rossjohn obtained his Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Garry Taylor, Professor Michael Danson and Professor David Hough at Bath University and subsequently relocated to Melbourne, Australia. Jamie's primary contribution lies in providing a structural basis of defined events central to infection and cellular immunity. He has provided insight into the molecular mechanism of action of the cholesterol-dependent pore-forming toxins and an AB5 toxin. Moreover, Professor Rossjohn has provided an understanding of receptor-recognition events at the immunological synapse. This includes providing insights into the basis of Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) restriction, lipid recognition, T-cell bias, T-cell allorecognition, T-cell signalling and MHC polymorphism in the context of antigen presentation and viral evasion. Jamie is currently an Australian Research Council Federation Fellow located at Monash University. He is married to Lisa, and has three wonderful children (Siân, Bevan and Hannah).
