Steve Shears

Dr Steve Shears has served for over 20 years as the Head of the Inositol Signaling Group at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, in North Carolina, U.S.A. His long-standing interests in signal transduction in general, and inositol phosphates in particular, can be blamed on the tutelage of Professor Bob Michell at the University of Birmingham, U.K, where Steve worked for 7 years prior to his move to North Carolina. Steve obtained his Ph.D in Biology from the University of York, U.K. He has authored over 150 articles and reviews. He can frequently be sighted at dawn, running the streets of his local home town, Chapel Hill.
